STATE LEADERSHIP
In 1974, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi chaired the Kano State Abattoir, and from 1976 to 1979 he served as Director of the State Water Board, demonstrating his versatility in state‑level administration.
CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
He also ventured into corporate leadership as Chairman of Sun Insurance Company Ltd. (1976–1979) and as a Director of the Hadejia‑Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (1979).

Medical & Health Councillor
As a councillor overseeing Medical & Health affairs between 1953 and 1987, Alhaji Sanusi played a crucial role in developing healthcare infrastructure and policies in Kano State.
State Drugs Abuse Committee
In 1984, he became a member of the State Drugs Abuse Committee, addressing one of the pressing social challenges facing the community.
Health Management Board
His appointment to the Health Management Board in 1984 further demonstrated his commitment to improving healthcare delivery systems in Kano.
