Full Name & Title
Alhaji Abbas Sanusi Bayero, better known by his traditional title Galadiman Kano, the highest-ranking councillor in the Kano Emirate after the Emir himself.
Birth & Upbringing
Born into the Bayero ruling family of the Kano Emirate, he spent his early years in the royal palace at Kano, immersed in the traditions and governance of one of Nigeria’s oldest emirates. Born in 1936 in Kano, Abbas Muhammadu Sanusi began his educational journey at Kofar Kudu Elementary School (1944-1948). He continued at Kano Middle School, now known as Rumfa College (1948-1953), before attending the School for Arabic Studies in Kano (1953-1955).
His pursuit of knowledge took him to England, where he attended Technical College, Torquay (Devon, England) (1960-1962) and earned a Diploma in Public & Social Administration. He further enhanced his expertise through various courses in Public & Social Administration at Ahmadu Bello University (Zaria) and Bayero University Kano.

Renowned for his leadership, he was a pillar of the Kano traditional council until his passing.
